How to find us
Pett village lies between Hastings and Rye a little way from the A259. The Royal Oak lies on the main road through the village 250 yards East of the village church. The village can be accessed from the A259, Hastings to Rye and from the Winchelsea Beach road to Hastings via Pett Level.
From Hastings take the A259 to Rye, at the Beefeater Pub turn right, signposted Pett, into Friars Bank, continue along the road for 2 miles passing by the Two Sawyers on the left and the village church on the right before you reach the pub. From Rye take the A259 to Hastings, at Winchelsea turn left into Sea Road, signposted Winchelsea Beach. Continue along for 4 miles until you reach Pett Level. Turn right at Chick Hill, signposted Pett, and continue along for a further mile until you reach the pub.
Please be aware that East Sussex Highways are carrying out resurfacing works on Pett Road for 8 days from 20 Nov 17. During this period Pett Road will be closed between 9:30am & 4:00pm daily. However, in spite of the Road Ahead Closed notices placed at Pannel Lane the ESCC Highways team will grant access to the Royal Oak and Elms Lane from Pett Road. During the working day there will be no access to Elms Lane from Pett Level. Please allow extra time for your journey to the Royal Oak.
